Sotheby's Jony and Marc's (RED) Auction shatters estimate (featuring a unique JLC Atmos and Memovox)

Sotheby's charity auction for Bono's RED charity just concluded tonight. Selling a collection of 43 superbly designed objects either conceived or curated by Jony Ive and Marc Newson. The highlight was the Leica M240 customized by the pair, which shattered estimates of 500,000-750,000 USD and ultimately sold for 1,805,000 USD. The two JLCs also sold for an incredible (dare I say Patek-like) figure of 365,000 for the Memovox and 425,000 for the Atmos.

The full auction results can be seen at Sotheby's here, there were only a few items within or below estimate.
